The Duckpond is Gainesville’s original neighborhood.

It is a wonderful blend both of people and of homes: a few of the houses were built in the late 19th century, construction continued through the 1920’s, 30’s, and 40’s and into the 1950’s. Many of the homes are listed in the National Historic Register.

The broad old fashioned sidewalks and soft tree canopy that winds through the area of about 230 homes make the case that the Duckpond may be Gainesville’s most walkable neighborhood.Downtown Gainesville is within easy walking distance and the University of Florida is within an easy ten-minute bike ride.Prices range from about $150,000 for a two-bedroom craftsman bungalow to over $500,000 for a brick colonial.
